The life of a furry prisoner is pretty ruff.

The Delusion of the “Fur Baby”

Have you seen someone so delusional they call their purchased companion their “fur baby”? They’re partaking in a system that is, in itself, deeply twisted, but they’ll convince themselves they’ve “rescued” their poor, purebred, deformed new furry pal, all for the low, low cost of thousands of dollars upfront and thousands more over its life sentence. It’s not a furrier version of Stockholm syndrome at all. No, it’s just a forced, one-sided relationship with no consent from the animal whatsoever, a power dynamic Harvey Weinstein would be envious of. #MeMew?

Selective Outrage: Whales, Dolphins, and Goldfish

But hey, what we can all agree on is that those sick monsters keeping whales, dolphins, and apes in captivity are the real injustice to post about on Reddit! Because obviously, a goldfish in a tank or a pug that can’t breathe is totally different from Shamu doing flips for tourists, right?

Free Palestine, But Not Fido

These are the same people who will rant about their favorite imagined enemies or slap “Free Palestine” stickers on their cars, but how about we free our furry pals, Einstein? They’re not your kind, they’re not your baby, and they’re definitely not your “child.” They’re kidnapped animals, forced into a pack they don’t belong to, brainwashed just enough to obey so we can keep them enslaved without guilt. Don’t even get me started on the disgusting puppy mill economy that props up your insane delusions. Then there are the dangerous morons who think they need a dog capable of tearing a toddler into bite-sized pieces to share with the whole pack.

The Real Crime: Adoption Hypocrisy

They’ll go on and on about their precious fur babies, but heaven forbid some evil white devil adopts a kid from a third-world country, that’s the real crime, apparently. Because we all know those adopted kids should have been born as anchor babies, and that mother needed to fuel our economy, or be smuggled in a shipping container that may or may not be opened ever again. Mass graves done economically, that’s for sure.

The Cost of “Caring”

The willful ignorance of people who “care” will never cease to astound me. Your fur baby has hip dysplasia? Well, better spend thousands of dollars at the veterinarian to get that fixed instead of making the world outside yourself any better. You gave that homeless-looking man five bucks last week, so you are doing just fine, my friend. There are plenty of ways to make yourself feel better about life, kidnapping animals and brainwashing them should not be one of them, unless you happen to be an “it puts the lotion on the skin” kind of person.

Eugenics, Colonialism, and the Patriarchy

Don’t even get me started on the eugenics roots of the pet industry. Who’s counting when colonialism and the patriarchy are just wagging their tails in the background?
